RULONA
Also called: Revised Uniform Law on Notarial Acts, Act 73 of 2013
The Revised Uniform Law on Notarial Acts — Pennsylvania's current notary statute, codified at 57 Pa.C.S. §§ 301–331. Enacted as Act 73 of 2013, amended by Act 154 of 2022, and implemented by final regulations published at 56 Pa.B. 1672 (March 28, 2026).
RULONA replaced Pennsylvania’s prior fragmented notary law with a comprehensive framework covering identity verification, the permitted notarial acts, electronic and remote online notarization, journal and stamp requirements, and grounds for discipline. If you’re practicing as a PA notary, this is the statute you live under.
