Acknowledgment
Also called: ack
A notarial act in which the signer personally appears before the notary, is identified, and declares that they signed the document willingly and for the purposes stated. The most common notarial act in Pennsylvania.
Under RULONA, an acknowledgment requires three things: personal appearance, identification (either personal knowledge or satisfactory evidence of identity), and the signer’s declaration that the signature is theirs and the act is voluntary.
